Retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General Merle Duane Hart served 42 years as a navigator in the C-130 Hercules tactical airlift aircraft. Hart operated in 151 countries while amassing more than 6,300 hours in the air. He currently resides in Windber, PA with his wife, Julieann Hart, a lieutenant colonel, who is actively serving.
