Brave Men Talk: A Veterans Epic Barefoot Journey

For over 240 days, veteran Anton Nootenboom has been walking barefoot an average of 12 miles a day across 13 states, including Death Valley and the Rocky Mountains, to raise awareness for men’s mental health and reduce veteran suicide. His journey, which began as a personal mission, will conclude on Veterans Day, November 11, 2024, at the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

Former holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest barefoot hike—covering 1,800+ miles along Australia’s East Coast—Anton continues to push his physical and mental limits to inspire change. This monumental trek calls for both awareness and support for veterans’ mental wellness, encouraging conversations about vulnerability, strength, and healing.

Patriot Park Foundation invites you to support Anton’s cause. You can contribute financially to his campaign or join him at the finish line in NYC to celebrate this extraordinary achievement. With your help, Anton’s journey can leave a lasting impact on mental health awareness, encouraging openness and connection across the veteran community and beyond.
