As we approach the end of the 2025 season it time to acknowledge all of those who have made our progress this year possible. First to our donors who have given so generously: Your contributions have placed the Foundation in a financial position that we can now begin design of the Memorial Wall. The Wall of Names will forever memorialize all of our U.S. Armed Forces Global War on Terrorism service members who have given their lives to protect us and preserve our freedom. Our goal is to complete the design by the summer of 2026 and then begin a drive to fund construction. If you have an interest in serving on the design selection committee, please reach out to me as soon as possible.
Secondly, our fabulous volunteers have stepped up this year and completed the installation of the flag holders in the Field of Heroes. This was hard, backbreaking work carried out in the wet and chill of the springtime and through the heat of the summer. I never dreamed we would be able to complete this project with volunteer labor, but they worked tirelessly to get it completed. In addition, a big thank you to the vendors who donated material or provided it at reduced cost.
2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and the start of the Global War on Terrorism. Here at Patriot Park Foundation, we are excited to remember these anniversaries as we look at 2026 as a steppingstone to completion of the memorial. Please get involved and help us make the park a memorial worthy of the sacrifice made by so many to protect us from terrorists and preserve our freedom.
